The Great Content Face-Off: Prestige Production vs. Creator Connection

Session details:

For most of its existence, TV has existed on a pedestal: produced in Hollywood, loved from afar, made to be watched but not touched. But today, audiences are just as likely to spend hours with creators on YouTube or TikTok. Rather than perform like celebrities, these new entertainers talk to their audience like friends. The fourth wall has all but disappeared, and with it the definition of what counts as “premium” entertainment.

This matters because the rules of engagement are being rewritten in real time. The rise of creator-driven video isn’t just reshaping what people watch — it’s reshaping why they watch, and what they’re willing to pay for.  This session will gather media and entertainment executives to debate the future of “premium content” and what audiences value in traditional TV and creator content.

[Internal note: we have a panel discussion of the same subject matter for StreamTV Europe and would like to restructure the session into a debate for StreamTV Denver with a focus on the U.S. market.]
