Bio:

Dr. Boaz Hirshberg joined Regeneron in 2021 and serves as senior vice president, clinical development unit head, internal medicine, leading strategic program direction and overall clinical development for a broad range of therapeutic areas including ophthalmology, cardiovascular, obesity and metabolism, immunology, inflammation and infectious and rare diseases. Before joining Regeneron, Dr. Hirshberg was executive vice president, chief medical officer at BOL Pharma, a biotech developing medical cannabis therapeutics for conditions such as autism spectrum disorder. At the same time, Dr. Hirshberg co-founded Regio Biosciences. In prior roles, he worked for 12 years at AstraZeneca/MedImmune in positions of increasing responsibility, ultimately building and overseeing the cardiovascular renal and metabolism clinical therapeutic area at MedImmune and at Pfizer as an early clinical lead for diabetes. Dr. Hirshberg completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the Hebrew University and is board certified in internal medicine, following his residency at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem and an endocrine fellowship at the NIH in Bethesda Maryland.
