Adrian Perry, a Technology & IP Transactions partner and co-chair of Covington’s Entertainment and Media and Music industry groups, is helping to shape the future of how content is created and consumed. Adrian is an authority on digital content distribution issues, artificial intelligence deals, and on data collection and licensing, with a focus on the music, sports, TV, and film industries. He represents Sony Music, Disney, UMG, Fox, SESAC, Downtown Music Holdings, MGM, Amazon, A+E, AMC, Black Music Action Coalition, NBA, NFL, NHL, TIDAL, Major League Soccer, USTA, American Airlines, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Avid Technology (makers of Pro Tools), among others, on some of their most groundbreaking, complicated and publicized deals. Adrian brings industry perspective from his non-legal work few lawyers can offer, from touring as a musician with national acts and licensing his music for film and TV, to working for Saturday Night Live, and scouting for Epic and Columbia Records. He is a frequent speaker, including at SXSW and Mondo.NYC, where he serves on the conference’s steering committee, and he is a member of the ABA’s NFT Task Force, was formerly on the Law360 media & entertainment editorial board, and is a board member of Second Stage Theater, the Tony Award winning Broadway theater company.
