Bio:
Andrea Downing leads PBS Distribution, the global commercial distributor of public media content, where she has overseen the organization's expansion across subscription and ad-supported streaming platforms.
Under her leadership, PBS Distribution has launched seven subscription channels on Amazon Prime Video — including PBS Masterpiece, PBS Documentaries, and PBS KIDS — and built a growing portfolio of FAST channels including PBS Antiques Roadshow, PBS Nature, PBS Travel, and PBS Food. The FAST channels are powered by the Amagi platform and delivered through partnerships including Roku, Samsung, Prime Video, and Pluto TV.
This streaming growth sits within a broader multiplatform business spanning transactional VOD, physical media, educational licensing, international program sales, linear channels including PBS America, theatrical releases, and inflight entertainment. The organization has also expanded into content investment and production financing across drama, factual, lifestyle, and kids programming.
Prior to her current role, Downing served as Vice President of Home Entertainment and Partnerships at PBS and held leadership positions at Discovery Communications. She is a Board Officer of DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group and an alumna of Michigan State University.
