Kenyatta Cheese

CEO

Everybody at Once

Bio:

Kenyatta Cheese is CEO of Everybody at Once (EA1), the audience development and cultural strategy consultancy he co-founded in 2013. EA1 has spent the years since building the playbook for turning audiences into participating fandoms — work that now sits at the center of how modern IP travels across platforms, formats, and generations. The firm's clients include Google, Netflix, Searchlight Pictures, and Lionsgate, working across the seam where mainstream media and creator-led culture now overlap. His foundational fandom work includes always-on campaigns for Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, Shark Week, Doctor Who, Killing Eve, and Portlandia — shows whose communities became templates for the participating audiences platforms now race to build.

Before EA1, Kenyatta co-founded Know Your Meme, the original infrastructure for tracking how internet culture gets made and credited.
His work has been featured in The New York Times, The Atlantic, NPR, WIRED, Vice, and The Verge.

He serves as Board Co-Chair of Eyebeam, the art and technology nonprofit, and as a board member of the Urban Justice Center. He lives in Berkeley.

His work argues that meme dynamics and fandom mechanics, once treated as subcultures, have become the operating system of contemporary culture.
