Bio:

Blair Harrison is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Frequency, a Los Angeles based software company that provides a cloud based platform for the creation, management and distribution of streaming television channels. Under his leadership since its founding in 2010, Frequency has grown to become the world’s most advanced Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) platform. Today, Frequency powers hundreds of channels distributed across more than 150 global platforms, reaching audiences in the billions each month.

A computer scientist and serial entrepreneur, Blair has spent over two decades at the forefront of innovation in online video and streaming television. At Frequency, he has built and led teams spanning software engineering, user experience, product design, machine learning, and hyper-scale infrastructure. His focus on design, automation, scalability, and operational simplicity has helped content owners and distributors efficiently deploy linear streaming channels with powerful monetization and audience engagement tools.

Prior to Frequency, Blair was CEO of IFILM, a pioneering internet short form online video destination. IFILM launched the Viral Vault in 2001, one of the first widespread uses of the term “viral” in online video culture. In recognition of his contributions to the television and technology sectors, he received Wired Magazine’s prestigious Rave Award in 2005.

Earlier in his career, Harrison co-founded FasTV, an innovative platform that used video recognition technology to generate searchable clips from live broadcast television. This was one of the earliest consumer facing implementations of real time, automated video indexing, an approach that foreshadowed today’s content discovery and recommendation engines.

Throughout his career, Harrison has consistently anticipated shifts in the media landscape. With Frequency, he continues to drive transformation in streaming television by delivering highly scaled cloud based solutions that help content providers launch premium FAST, vMVPD and OTT channels with unmatched efficiency and control.

Blair was born in England, holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Bristol, and has lived in Los Angeles since the late nineties.
